Don Liuzzi nació y creció en Weymouth, Massachusetts, y completó la escuela secundaria en el Centro de Aprendizaje de Franklin en Philadelphia. Anders Åstrand is a mallet artist, clinician and composer. As a mallet specialist, Åstrand regularly performs and gives clinics throughout the US, Latin America, Australia, and Europe. With his percussion ensemble, Global Percussion Network, he has toured extensively in Sweden, Europe, the USA and South Korea.
Neil Percy is the principal percussionist with the London Symphony Orchestra. With a passion for music education, he is also head of Timpani and Percussion at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
A talented vibraphonist and marimba player, Dave Samuels has gained his greatest fame for his many years with Spyro Gyra. He started on his first instrument, the drums, when he was six, but by the time he attended Boston University (from which he graduated with a psychology degree), he was studying mallet instruments.
Born in Leonberg, Germany, in 1981 he had his first piano and percussion lessons at the age of 9.
Recognized for their excellent musical skills and virtuoso performances, Axoum Duo is one of the most diverse groups representing a number of different styles in today`s music. Through their own musical language they perform a repertoire mostly consisting of compositions and arrangements written by Gabriel Collet, specifically for the duo. In addition to their concert activities, the duo writes soundtracks for documentaries and works with different musicians, singers, dancers and painters. Fully committed to contemporary music, they have made many first performances of new pieces, some of which have been dedicated to them.
Isao Nakamura has taught at the Internationalen Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt (1994-2006), Akiyoshidai International Contemporary Music Seminar and Festival in Japan (1991-1998) and is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe since 1992.
