When I was 11 years old, I received my very first trumpet from my father: a beautiful Yamaha 100S. From that moment, a long journey started... this Yamaha 100S trumpet has been with me from the day I had it till my college years at Peking University. Now, I've owned more than 10 Yamaha trumpets, but the 100S still plays!
People used to say, being a trumpet player is not easy, you will have to suffer the “loneliness of a long distance runner” as you try to figure out how to play and how to find your own sound. But during more than twenty years' journey as a student and a professional musician, with my Yamaha trumpets, I never felt lonely. Xeno trumpets became my buddies!
As an orchestral musician, or as a free improviser, I have to work with extremely demanding programs, and my Yamaha trumpets are always there to give me confidence. Every time I introduce Xeno to my colleagues or students, I can see smiles on their faces. I am so glad that more and more trumpet players in China became Xeno fans.
With their beautiful sound, great intonation, consistency and flexibility, Yamaha Xeno trumpets became the top choice on the market on the day they were launched. And Yamaha is still working on new models/generations today. Every time I try a new model, I am so amazed that I cannot wait to use it in concerts.
Yamaha is so much more than a world famous brand; it represents a spirit-- a spirit of patience, perfection, and workmanship. It is a great honor to be part of the Yamaha Family!
Happy 30th Birthday, Xeno! Let's Make Waves together!
