YAMAHA FGDP COMPETITION: JOIN THE BATTLE
Experience live performances and master your abilities in finger drumming, scratching, and beat making at the Sample Music Festival: jam sessions, competitions and live music await for you from July 18–20 at the House of Music, Berlin.
And if you’re into pure rhythm, then crack your knuckles, set your fingers loose and join the battle in the very first edition of the Yamaha FGDP Competition!
WHEN: 19 July 2025, at 7pm
WHERE: main stage of the House of Music, Berlin
WHAT: perform a 2-minute solo to showcase your skills. After all performances, a winner will be determined
RULES: Perform a routine in the genre of your choice, using only the sounds of the FGDP. The focus is entirely on your pad performance — no loops, just pure rhythm and creativity.
HARDWARE: All participants will perform using a Yamaha FGDP, which will be provided by SMF. Want to warm up or get familiar with the FGDP? No worries – practice units will be available on Friday and Saturday afternoon in Noisy Room No.3 at the House of Music. Here, you’ll get a full hands-on experience and the chance to jam with Yamaha Artist Simon Raschen.
PRIZE: 3 winners will each receive a Yamaha FGDP.
